For their second semester internship AIV M1 students may choose to join the Liliane Bettencourt iGEM Paris team.
Since 2007, this team, supported by the Bettencourt Schueller Fundation, is competing in the international synthetic biology competition iGEM ("International Genetically Engineered Machine"), organized every year by the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT, Cambridge, USA) : the Paris team has already been distinguished with several prestigious prizes in this competition.
Students who joined the team testify that iGEM is a pedagogical program with no equivalent. Young - most of them inexperienced - students learn how to set up a lab team, build a project, develop it with collaborative and interdisciplinary approaches, and finally students get to present their work publicly before an international jury in this competition of more than 110 teams from the best world universities!
